We spent a long weekend in Georgia visiting our daughter and her husband. We had a wonderful time. They are both so sweet and just try to do so much for us! Of course....any parent knows that just being WITH them is all we really need....the activities are just icing on the cake! I am so proud of the wife, homemaker...the woman that my daughter has turned out to be! I have NO idea where she got it....but my hat is off to her, she is amazing!
We got there on Thursday night..so we had 3 full days with them! Friday, Trip, Jillian and I went to the outlets in Dawsonville....Greg had to work :( The three of us had a good time and we found some good bargains! Ran into a storm on the way home...scary...the rain was blinding..but we made it! We went to dinner at Flip...a restaurant Jillian and Greg had been to and wanted to take us to sample the best hamburgers ever!! And they were!! YUM!! The onion rings and fried okra were terrific too.....and the MILKSHAKES...sinful!
Saturday we all got up and went to the Farmers Market in Marietta...it was nice to walk around and I found some natural Shea butter and lavender oatmeal soap.... I bought it for Eva's skin, I hope it works! Jillian and I left the guys and went on to lunch...a wonderful lunch at Pacific Spice...YUM.. then we went to get our nails done.. and I REALLY needed a pedicure and manicure!! THANK YOU JILLIAN AND GREG....this was my Mother's Day present....and the time with my daughter was the true gift and one I appreciate greatly! Saturday night my sweet son in law cooked dinner for us! He made awesome chicken quesadillas! Too bad I am such a spicy food wimp!!! LOL...after I got rid of the jalapenos...the quesadillas were great!! He is such a good husband to our daughter...prayers are answered!! We played Rook...and we let them win, they are SO competitive....
Sunday...was very pretty...the sun was out and it was a hot day in Georgia! So we headed to the pool! We got to meet Jillian's friend, Jillian! And we were glad we did, what a sweet girl! I am glad our daughter has such sweet friends. We got back to the house and Jillian made pizza for dinner...she made her own crust...which was wonderful!! WHO is this girl???? We played another game of Rook...and we let them win again..it was our last game and all....no sense in upsetting them! HAH!
Our weekend was very, very nice!! Thanks Jillian and Greg!

Sounds like so much fun !! You have raised such a Godly daughter. I only hope that my child will be just as grounded and I pray that when she is "old" she will "not depart" from it. You are blessed. I'll always remember you telling me "she is not spoiled, she is loved" ... I try to use that in my parenting, because obviously it worked !! Love you and miss you.
HAH let us win my BUTT!!! You and Dad just don't have any Rook skills! I'm glad you had a good time, we did too! Love you!
