Our 23rd Anniversary was yesterday! My sweet husband planned a surprise for me and would NOT tell me anything about it! We woke up yesterday morning and he told me what to pack, then we were off! We dropped the top on his car and we were headed west. I guessed the mountains...but I was wrong. We drove to Greensboro, NC and stopped and had lunch with some old friends, Jim and Martha Ann Garrison, at our FAVORITE pizza place ever...Bill's Pizza! Their pizza is to die for and there is nothing like it or even comes close anywhere we have tried! We ordered a Pizza Pub Special...which has everything on it! Then it was back in the car and we were still going West... I guessed Colonel Ludlow's this time, which was a favorite Bed and Breakfast for us located in Winston Salem... But again.. Trip said Nope...just wait and see. LOL.. I have no patience! The next stop was Old Salem...we got out and wandered the streets, we went into the Mercantile and the Visitor's Center..and OF COURSE the Bakery! We bought love feast buns,
a cinnamon bun, apple streudel, sugar cake and moravian cookies....wow... I really needed this stop!!! LOL... Then back in the car...a few streets up...and where did he stop??? The Summit Street Inn....same place...different name!! SO my husband actually made reservations, planned our trip, and planned our evening!!! (That is not for blogging! HAHAHAH!!) It was a very nice anniversary!! Twenty three years....I would like to say it has been so easy...and MOST of it has been...but looking back I guess the problems and the arguments and LIFE, are what make you strong as a couple. I tried to teach my children that every choice has a consequence...and s0metimes you do have to CHOOSE to stay married and sometimes you have to make that decision on a daily basis!! I am glad we made that choice.... and I hope to have at least 23 more!
