almost ready.....
Yes it has been a while! Thanksgiving has come and gone. Last weekend Jillian and Greg came from Georgia with their two "children" and Trip and I, Andy, Kari, and Eva all went to Mammie's house for Thanksgiving. This is tradition...not so much as when we have it or where we have it ....but the MEAL is always the same. Which is always very yummy!!! Everyone has their favorites...mine happens to be the dressing, and I see with our newest addition to the family (our new son-in-law) that I am NOW not the ONLY one that feels this way about the dressing! That's ok Greg...I will share! Trip's favorite is the dilled brussel sprouts, and our daughter-in-law seems to like those alot too!!! LOL...Kari you are lucky he loves you so much because you know he does not share with just anybody!! Andy's favorite is the sweet potato pudding, Mammie has gotten smart....she now lets the MEN grate those potatoes! That is hard work!!! Jillian's favorite is the herbed rice..which is very good too!! I guess the turkey is just there to justify all the trimmings!!! :)
Today we went to my sister's house as always...for lunch with the masses.....lol!! Not everyone is blood family....but I guess every Thanksgiving we feed at least 40 to 50 people!! The food was AWESOME!!! There were turkeys, hams, and a roasted pork shoulder for the meats...the sides were too numerous to name!!! Some of our favorites were Cal's waldorf salad, Eddie's seafood salad, and dirty rice. They tell me his fried mushrooms are good too, but I don't care for shrooms!! We had mashed potatoes, baked cheesy potatoes, buttered potatoes and sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, green bean casserole, succotash, squash casserole, corn, corn casserole, broccoli casserole, baked apples, carrots.....and the list just went ON and ON.... Desserts...chocolate pound cake, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, apple dumplings, a YUMMY grape salad, banana pudding.... WOW.....what a feast!! With all the great food..and the great company, we are truly blessed! We have so much to be thankful for!! And we are..... I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Grape salad? Interesting...perhaps we will make it to the extended family Thanksgiving next year! Sounds yummy!!!
Sounds like fun. I love a huge family meal and lots of socializing. I am still stuffed from yesterday and am exhausted. I would have to walk 27 miles to burn off all the calories but man-o-man was it good.
